YOUR LEGEND CAST IRON SKILLET
Before you use, scrub with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly.
Rub entire pan with cooking oil. Buff thoroughly until skillet no longer looks greasy.
Heat oiled pan to 450° for 30 minutes. The oil will polymerize and form the 1st of plastic-like coatings you’ll be laying down.
Remove pan from the oven, allow to cool, and repeat Step 3. Repeating the oil/buff/heat process 3-5 times will enhance the seasoning process.
Soybean oil is best, but you can use any of the following fats: grapeseed oil, peanut oil, canola oil, vegetable oil, flaxseed oil.
Buffing helps your skillet absorb the seasoning so it does not become greasy. To buff, simply rub your oil of choice in circular motion until it is absorbed into the cast iron.
